The Western Hemisphere experienced a second "new moon" which is a moon phase during which the moon\'s conjunction from the sun is invisible from the earth on July 31, 2019. The second new moon to occur in one month is also known as the "black moon." Much like the second full moon in a month is also known as a "blue moon."
