1. Saturday: Shred event at First Horizon

Did you know that a whopping one-third of Americans were victimized by identify theft in 2023? Much of this can be attributed to cybercrime, but you can help protect your identity simply by being more diligent with personal documents.

First Horizon Bank and the Sunrise Rotary Club of Marco Island are collaborating to provide shredding services from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., Saturday, April 20 at First Horizon Bank, 605 Bald Eagle Drive, Marco Island.

Admission is a suggested donation of just $20. All funds raised will be used to support local charities and scholarships. Be aware that only paper-based documents will be accepted (no cardboard, office supplies, hanging folders etc.).

2. Sunday: Zachary DePue featured with Naples Philharmonic

Naples Philharmonic’s Concertmaster Zachary DePue to be featured soloist at Camerata of Naples concert.

Camerata of Naples will start their fourth and final concert of the season at 4 p.m., Sunday, April 21, with J. C. Bach’s Harpsichord Concerto No. 6. Naples Philharmonic’s Concertmaster Zachary DePue returns as the featured soloist performing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons Spring and Summer.

Grieg’s Holberg Suite Op. 40 for String Orchestra will complete the concert. The Camerata of Naples concerts are held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 500 Park Shore Drive, Naples.

3. Saturday: Bay Days cleanup across SWFLA

Keep Collier Beautiful (KCB) invites Collier County residents to register for the Bay Days – Great American Cleanup on Saturday, April 20.

Plastic straws are one of the top 10 plastic items found in beach cleanups every year.

The event will run from 8 until 11 a.m. at select Collier County beaches, canals and waterways.

On Marco Island, Friends of Tigertail is hosting the cleanup event. from 8 until 10 a.m., Saturday, April 20.

Meet at the Tigertail Beach Kiosk. Wear shoes that may get wet. Sunscreen and a hat are recommended. Bring a grabber if you have one. Bring your own water container to help reduce waste. Garbage bags and gloves will be provided. All youth participants will receive a certificate of appreciation.
