Brad Pitt made his first public appearance since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce in September, on the arm of a good friend: Julia Roberts.

The actor/producer stepped out to co-host a screening with his The Mexican and Ocean's co-star. The Los Angeles event for Moonlight took place Monday, just days after Pitt filed his response to Angelina Jolie's divorce petition, and almost two months since the couple's official day of separation.

Pitt's Plan B production company co-produced the widely-praised coming-of-age story, Moonlight, with A24. The film could see some awards love after another one of Plan B's films, 12 Years A Slave, won the Oscar for Best Picture in 2014.

Brad Pitt, executive producer of 'Moonlight,' co-hosts a screening of the movie with Julia Roberts.

It's shaping up to be a busy week of public appearances for Pitt, who's also attending a screening of Allied Wednesday night in Los Angeles. Allied is the movie whose trailer came out the day Pitt's divorce news did, and stars Pitt and Marion Cotillard in the World War II spy drama. Cotillard shares steamy love scenes with Pitt in the film, and said she "felt the need to speak up" to publicly deny rumors that she was involved in Pitt and Jolie's marital troubles.

Moonlight hits theaters nationwide on Nov.11 and Allied debuts on Nov. 23.
