‘Watts for Dinner’: Expanded dining, all-day breakfast highlight changes at Summer Day

Our next dining destination is Summer Day Market & Café, located in Marco’s Town Center Mall.

Two things, the market side has been reduced in order to install more tables to accommodate an expanding menu on the cafe side; including an all-day breakfast.

We tried an omelet, featuring turkey bacon and a croissant. Delish! Marco may have a lot of places to eat, but not nearly enough breakfast locations — especially ones that serve it all day. This could be very beneficial for business.

We also took home a veggie wrap ($11.99, we added chicken). This wrap is loaded with veggies and premium chicken! Love it!

Some of my other Summer Day favorites: The California wrap, the Waldorf chicken salad sandwich and the tuna sandwich. Most menu items come as a sandwich with your choice of bread or as a wrap, with several varieties to choose from.

The California features turkey, avocado, sprouts, tomato, cucumber, onion and organic goddess dressing. This item goes a long way to dispel the myth that health-conscious food can’t also be filling and delicious. The avocado is pure perfection and the sprouts are plentiful.

The tuna salad sandwich features albacore tuna mixed with Vegenaise, carrots, onions and celery; served with lettuce, tomato, red onion and sprouts. It’s one of the best tuna sandwiches you’ll find anywhere.

The Waldorf chicken salad features chicken breast mixed with Vegenaise, celery, apples, walnuts, cranberries and blue cheese; served with lettuce, tomato, red onion and sprouts. This dish is as good as it sounds, and the café doesn’t skimp on any of the ingredients.

There’s also smoothies and acai bowls. Drinks come in 16 or 20 oz. The flavor is intense and delicious.

One final note: Don’t leave without a soup from the frig. We love the lentil and the split pea.

Summer Day Café is always great food that’s good for you. Happy eating!
