‘Watts for Dinner’: Naples Tiki – Amazing burgers, brats and apps

Our next dining destination is Naples Tiki Bar & Grill in South Naples. This is our first visit to this fairly new establishment. It’s all outdoor seating, but there’s plenty of heaters for those cool days.

Things got off to an appetizing start with the breaded “Zucchini Sticks” ($7.99) and the cheese curds ($8.99). The curds, my favorite, are served with marinara. The spears, also very tasty, are served with a creamy ranch.

For my main entree, I selected the mushroom burger ($14.99). It’s cooked to taste, with a thick slab of meat and a pile of mushrooms held together with melted Swiss cheese. It also has lettuce, tomatoes, onions and pickles. It comes with a side of fries.

The burger was juicy and amazing. The veggies were fresh. The fries are heavy on the black pepper. Unique. I liked ‘em. Not sure everyone will embrace it.

My dining companion had the “Tiki Kickin’ Chicken” ($14.99). The menu says it’s grilled chicken breasts in a Thai chili sauce. What we got were breaded chicken strips. Not bad at all.

I’ll be back for the “Jersey Ripper Dog,” the “Chicago Dog” and the “Big Man’s Chili Dog,” just a few of several dogs and brats on the menu.

Happy hour is every day from 3 until 6 p.m. We tried the “Cranberry Vlast” and the “Blue Hawaiian” ($7 each). Great price! And not light on the liquor, as you might expect.

Once inside the dining area, you can’t believe you are in the same spot. Great atmosphere, service and live music. Happy eating!
