Collier County COVID-19 vaccine tracker: 62% of people fully vaccinated

About 62% of people living in Collier County are fully vaccinated as of Sept. 7, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

That ranks 6th among all Florida counties. Collier is 15th among counties in the number of fully vaccinated residents with more than 226,000.

The CDC considers someone fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving a single-dose shot (Johnson & Johnson) or a second shot (either Pfizer or Moderna).

Florida reported 3,352,451 total cases of coronavirus, an increase of 4% from the week before.

The five counties with the highest percentage of their population fully vaccinated in Florida as of Sept. 7 are Sumter County (78%), Miami-Dade County (68%), St. Johns County (66%), Sarasota County (63%) and Osceola County (62%).
