A Golden Gate man was arrested Monday on 60 counts of possession of child pornography, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

Brooklyn Parker Clements, 25, was also charged with one count of possession of child pornography with intent to promote.

The investigation began after the Collier County Sheriff’s Office received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the transmission of child pornography.

Detectives determined the activity was occurring at Clements’ residence and that Clements was possibly the suspect, according to the sheriff’s office.

Detectives responded to Clements’ residence where he consented to a search of his cell phone, which revealed child pornography, according to the sheriff’s office.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Clements’ cell phone and a subsequent forensic examination revealed more than 700 files of child pornography, according to the sheriff’s office.

The investigation found Clements was engaged in Internet chats with possible children and other predators, according to the sheriff’s office.

The investigation also found Clements was using a file sharing application “that is commonly used by child exploitation offenders around the world who are interested in trading child pornography,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Clements turned himself in to sheriff’s office custody at the Collier County jail on Monday. His bond was set at $310,000.
