Urban Meyer is on his way to Jacksonville as the next head coach of the Jaguars. While that has brought plenty of excitement to Jaguars fans, it's also led to memes and remembrances of his stories exits from previous stops at Florida and Ohio State.

Meyer, who won national championships with the Gators and Buckeyes, will be expected to lead the Jaguars to prominence with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, likely to be Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

The Jaguars went to the AFC Championship Game after the 2017 season. That season aside, they have finished last in the AFC South each of the past five seasons and haven't had a winning record since 2007.

Excitement for Urban Meyer

Meyer's new players, including offensive lineman Jawaan Taylor and receivers Laviska Shenault and DJ Chark, shared their support of the move on Instagram.

They weren't the only ones excited.

Past issues bring skepticism

Not everyone was thrilled with the move. Some brought up former Ohio State assistant coach Zach Smith, who was charged with abusing his ex-wife, something Meyer claims he knew nothing about.

More brought up his quick exits from Florida and Ohio State for what he called "health issues."

Will Meyer's college success translate to the NFL? Only time will tell, but there were skeptics.
