Hurricane Irma: Marco Island is running low on fuel for motorists

Cars line up to purchase gasoline in preparation for Hurricane Irma at the North Naples Costco gas station Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017. On Monday, Florida Gov. Rick Scott issued a state of emergency for the state.

As motorists flock to gas stations across Collier County in preparation for Hurricane Irma, gas is running low, including on Marco Island.

At 7:30 a.m. today, the Marco Island Police Department reported no fuel available on the island. At 9:47 a.m., several gas stations on the island reportedly had fuel but levels were low.
